Tales of Tech Love

I so fondly remember, the first time I laid eyes on a sexy iMac computer. It was at my work. I had just started this job. Walked in to see this beautiful piece of technology starting back at me! I couldn't wait to get started. I had never used a Mac before, but it was so easy to figure out, I was mastering new skills in a matter of days!

It took me over 2 years, but finally, as a gift from my most amazing wonderful brother... a Mac of my VERY OWN for home. I love my brother!

Tales of Tech Woe

just a little side story here folks. I recall last year I was on my computer trying to send some 300-400 photos off to be printed. this was of course in the middle of a thunder storm. Suddenly, just as the photos were in the middle of upload, blinding lighting, followed by an earth shaking crash of thunder.. then... the power goes out!!

A few minutes passed, finally the light, the radio, the fan.. I can hear little beeps all around me as things return to life. Suddenly I remember the computer.... my pictures... I dash to the computer room, press the power button, that warm comforting glow of the monitor... the start up screen appears. I wait, I wait.... I wait.... NOTHING!! the whole computer was pretty much fried. it wouldn't start in safe mode, it wouldn't start at all!! ARRGG all my pictures... GONE... Pictures of the first year with my baby girl, videos of her first steps, first words, GONE. I was almost in tears!

Luckily I know people... and a friend was able to run some hard drive recovery software and retrieved most of my treasured pictures and videos!! phew! needless to say I want out promptly afterwards and bought an external drive for backing up files like my precious photos and videos.
